James Webb vs. Thomas Robertsen set for vacant middleweight title showdown at Cage Warriors 102

Dolly Clew, Cage Warriors

James Webb’s three-fight win streak under the Cage Warriors banner has been rewarded with a title shot as he takes on Norwegian middleweight, Thomas Robertsen, for the vacant 185-pound title at Cage Warriors 102 in London, England on March 2.

Cage Warriors announced the title fight through its social media channels on Tuesday.

Webb (5-1-0) is a flourishing middleweight prospect who has tasted defeat on just one occasion. The SBG Swords fighter boasts a four-fight win streak going into the London title fight.

Despite being well known for his jiu-jitsu skills before transitioning to MMA, the 28-year-old underlined the improvements he’s made in his striking under the tutelage of Chris Fields and Tom King with a first-round knockout of vastly experienced campaigner, Jason Radcliffe, in the main event of Cage Warriors 99 in November.

Robertsen (7-1-0) takes a two-fight winning run into his clash with Webb. In his last outing he executed a well worked rear-naked choke to claim a first-round win over Saeed Younsi at Cage Warriors 93 in Gothenburg, Sweden. “The Saint” claimed his first promotional win with a decision over Phil Wells at Cage Warriors 83 in June 2017.

The sole defeat of Robertsen’s career came against veteran Cage Warriors campaigner and two-time UFC fighter, Craig White. “The Thundercat” forced the tap in the dying embers of the opening round of their Cage Warriors 80 clash, which also marked the Norwegian’s promotional debut.
