This is The A-Side Live Chat on MMA Fighting.

Today on the show, we’ll talk the upcoming Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor UFC 229 press conference, which is set for Thursday in New York. What can we expect from the first confrontation between the two men? Will Conor McGregor’s tweets Tuesday mean a riotous atmosphere outside Radio City Music Hall? Marc is on location in New York to give his perspective.

We’ll also discuss UFC 230, which is a recurring theme of The A-Side lately. Will Jon Jones be in the main event if he gets cleared by USADA in time? Who will he face? Could the headliner be Tyron Woodley vs. Colby Covington? What is the latest there?

In addition, Herb Dean has come under scrutiny after a controversial late stoppage at UFC Moscow last weekend in a bout between Khalid Murtazaliev and C.B. Dollaway. Many felt Dean gave Dolloway way too much leeway, as he was getting pounded on by Murtazaliev. Did Dean blow the call? Why do things like this happen in MMA?

We will also speak about the tragic death of Kid Yamamoto at just 41 years old earlier this week. What did Yamamoto mean to the lighter weight classes of MMA? How influential was he in Japan and beyond? Has his legacy been somewhat forgotten?

If there’s time, we can chat about UFC Sao Paulo coming up this weekend, a card that has been haunted by injuries and bad luck. There’s also the upcoming bout between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz making news, as well as the return of B.J. Penn to fight Ryan Hall. Bellator 205 is Friday and that is headlined by a featherweight bout between AJ McKee and John Macapa.

There is plenty to talk about, so join us to discuss all of the above and much more. All is up for discussion. The chat will start at our time of 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.

As always, we’ll post the video window as the event draws near and answer any questions you might have if you post them in the comments below. For the comments you deem the most deserving, please click the “rec” button. Comments in green will get first priority.
