Just last week it was announced that former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson would be returning to face former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 229. It’s a fight that most people weren’t expecting, but apparently one that Ferguson has had on his mind for several years now, since the two both competed at UFC 181 in 2014 and Ferguson felt disrespected by Pettis’ team. In an Instagram he posted over the weekend, Ferguson told Pettis that now he would have to answer for that disrespect, saying he would be “bringing the pain” to “Showtime.”
“Technical Fall” ... @showtimepettis Your Team Tried To Dog My Squad In The Stands At UFC 181 & My Coach At The Time Told Me, Dont Worry About Him... “You Cant Big League A Big Leaguer”. I Told You I’d See You Soon Kid, Now Your Gonna Have To Answer To Me Toe-2-Toe Vato. I’ll Accept A Public Apology Before The Fight If You Want To Squash It & Fight Like Gentlemen. Either Way I’m Bringing The Pain, So I’ll See You Soon Hombre. Ferguson is currently riding an impressive 10-fight winning streak but has not competed since last October, having torn his LCL just days before a scheduled fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223. As a result, he was stripped of his interim title (pictured in the Instagram post) when Nurmagomedov defeated last-minute replacement Al Iaquinta to win the undisputed 155-pound title. Now Ferguson will serve as the co-main event to Nurmagomedov’s first title defense against Conor McGregor, with a win most likely setting him up to fight the winner for the belt.
UFC 229 takes place on Oct. 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wonder if taking shots at the CEO of Jameson’s father will work in the whiskey business.
Working hard at my Whiskey distillery. It is in my opinion, the finest distillery we have on this great island. We have the purest soil, with the freshest Irish spring water, and our golden Irish grain and malt is so golden, sun glasses are required to look directly at them I respect Jameson, the current number 1. But I am coming in strong. I am coming in passionate. I am coming to take over! 77 acres of un-matched Irish soil. Creating an un-matched Irish whiskey. We are producing nothing but liquid gold here. Proper liquid gold. I know my granda is looking down on me now, proud of my creation. I would love for him to be here to get his feedback. He was an avid, avid whiskey man. He was also one of the main campaigners for “early house pubs” before they were made legal across the country. He loved his whiskey more than he loved his breakfast and I KNOW that he would love this! One day Granda ❤

Taking the L.
Worst night of my life last night. Thank you @justin_gaethje for the opportunity. Tho confident in myself I did always respect you. I said what I said to get and promote the fight. You are a class act and I do appreciate your kind words last night. I have no excuses. I was in shape, healthy and confident. I blew it. For all those that believed in me and support me I am truly sorry. I will go back and keep training and loving this life of being a fighter and a martial artist. This is the life I have chose and I guess this comes with the territory. Thanks to all my friends, family and teammates for the support and thank you @UFC for the opportunity.
The more you know.
A history lesson. The last time this @BKBHOF @PoliceGazette diamond belt was ringside was 129 years ago in Mississippi when John L Sullivan fought Kilrain. They fought 75 rounds - 2hrs 16mins outside in 104 degree weather back in 1889 #bareknuckleboxing #policegazette @allelbows pic.twitter.com/xcAxgUuhVb— Bec Rawlings (@RowdyBec) August 26, 2018

TODAY IN MMA HISTORY
2011: Anderson Silva got his revenge on Yushin Okami, stopping him in the second round at UFC 134. In the co-main event, Shogun Rua avenged his loss to Forrest Griffin, knocking out the former light heavyweight champion in the first round.
We do not deserve Gaethjesus. The man has more bonuses than fights in the UFC. Appreciate him while we have him because we might not see his like again for quite some time.
Thanks for reading and see y’all tomorrow.
