Efe Ajagba remained unbeaten on Friday and he hardly broke a sweat, though it’s doubtful that he’ll be satisfied with that achievement.
The Nigerian boxer improved to 6-0 as a professional after opponent Curtis Harper simply up and left the ring immediately after the bell rang for their super heavyweight match at a Premier Boxing Champions event in Minneapolis.
First time I’ve ever seen this: heavyweight boxer Curtis Harper walks out of the ring at the opening bell for his fight against Efe Ajagba on live TV! Ajagba wins by DQ without a punch thrown #PBConFS1 pic.twitter.com/U8EH9Vaduf

As Ajagba made his way out of his corner, Harper simply stepped out through the ropes and calmly made his way to the backstage area. Ajagba would be awarded the victory via disqualification.
PBC reporter Jordan Hardy spoke to Harper afterwards and was told that the boxer felt disrespected by the amount of pay that he was receiving for the bout and thus, chose not to compete.
If y’all are wondering I spoke to Harper and he said he walked out of the ring because he’s not getting paid enough to fight and that he wants respect. ♀️ #AjagbaHarper #PBConFS1

Somehow, it seems unlikely that this incident is going to help Harper with his future negotiations.
