UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell details gruesome injury: ‘I ripped my nutsack in half’

Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell has suffered an injury that will make even the bravest man squirm in discomfort.

The undefeated Arkansas featherweight recently suffered a torn scrotum while working with a board and a drill and ... well, we’re just going to let Mitchell put what went down into his own words, via Twitter:

Mitchell was a part of Team Cormier during the recent The Ultimate Fighter 27 competition, where he lost in the semifinals to eventual featherweight winner Brad Katona. Mitchell won his official UFC debut at the TUF 27 Finale in Las Vegas on July 6, where he defeated Tyler Diamond via majority decision. He did not have another fight lined up at the time of the incident. Mitchell has eight submission wins among his 10 victories.

In case Mitchell’s original post left too much to the imagination, he later posted a graphic picture of the underwear he wore when the injury occurred:

Despite the injury, Mitchell has been in good enough spirits, as evidenced by this exchange with MMA Fighting’s own Shaun Al-Shatti.
