Donald Aaron, the husband of UFC flyweight fighter Andrea Lee, has officially been charged for his involvement in a domestic violence case and police have issued a warrant for his arrest, per a statement provided to MMA Fighting’s Marc Raimondi by the Shreveport Police Department.
The 43-year-old MMA coach, also known as “Donny Aaron”, reportedly attacked his wife at their home in Shreveport, La., choking Lee and threatening to put a cigarette out on her arm among other acts of aggression. Lee’s friend and teammate Andy Nguyen was first to speak on details concerning the alleged incident.
Aaron is being charged with one count of domestic battery abuse and one count of false imprisonment.
The news broke just two months after Aaron made headlines for being pictured with Nazi tattoos on his body. Both he and Lee defended his choice not to have them altered or covered up.
This is not Aaron’s first run-in with the law. In 2009, he was found guilty of negligent homicide in the death of Ronald Jamison, after shooting Jamison multiple times near his home. Aaron has also previously been arrested and jailed for assaulting an ex-wife’s fiance.
