UFC 228 poster released

A pair of title fights take center stage on the poster for UFC 228.

Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and undefeated challenger Darren Till are featured in the main event, while women’s flyweight champion Nicco Montano meets challenger Valentina Shevchenko in the co-headliner.

Woodley will be looking for his fourth consecutive successful title defense when he fights Till, who defeated Stephen Thompson by five-round unanimous decision to earn the championship opportunity, despite missing weight for that bout.

Montano enters her first defense as the rare champion underdog. She won the belt by conquering a field of flyweights on the 26th season of The Ultimate Fighter, but has considerably less high level experience than Shevchenko. “Bullet” challenged for a championship at 135 pounds and she picked up a dominant win over Priscila Cachoeira in her flyweight debut in February to establish herself as the No. 1 contender for Montano’s title.

UFC 228 takes place on Sept. 8 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
