What are you gonna do, when Cormier-mania runs wild on you?
Following a monumental win in the main event of UFC 226 on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, in which he defeated Stipe Miocic to add the heavyweight championship to his own light heavyweight title, Daniel Cormier took the microphone to call out WWE superstar and former UFC champion Brock Lesnar, who had arrived cageside shortly before the fight.
“There’s a guy that I’ve known for a long time,” Cormier said. “He’s a wrestler, he’s an All-American, he’s a former UFC champion. I never thought I would fight him, but Brock Lesnar get your ass in here.”
Lesnar proceeded to answer challenge by marching into the cage and shoving Cormier, who then said, “Yeah, you’re strong. But everybody’s strong. Push me now, you go to sleep later.”
When it was Lesnar’s turn to talk, he offered an even more fiery response, addressing both Cormier and other heavyweights who competed on Saturday’s card.
“Let me tell you something, I walked into this building and watched the heavyweight disasters from the beginning. (Francis) Ngannou is a piece of s**t. Miocic is a piece of s**t. ‘DC,’ I’m coming for you motherf**ker!”
Though no official announcement has been made yet by the UFC, it’s safe to assume that the gears are already in motion for Cormier’s first title defense.
