Khabib Nurmagomedov knows a thing or two about winning, and his country’s football team has recognized him even as it pursues its own glory.
The Russia national football club is currently preparing for a quarterfinal matchup with Croatia in the 2018 World Cup, but it found the time to sign and deliver a personalized jersey to Nurmagomedov:
Форвард национальной сборной России Артем Дзюба от лица команды подарил бойцу смешанного стиля Хабибу Нурмагомедову футболку с автографами российских футболистов и пожелал спортсмену удачи в ближайших боях. pic.twitter.com/qP5wz0gfHL

In the clip, Russian striker Artem Dzyuba shows off the gift, and mentions that he is wishing Nurmagomedov luck in an “upcoming battle with Conor McGregor,” according to Bloody Elbow’s Karim Zidan.
If the team continues to find success in the World Cup, and Nurmagomedov lands that monumental matchup with McGregor, it could be an all-time great sporting year for Russia.
