UFC Hamburg live blog: ‘Shogun’ Rua vs. Anthony Smith

This is the UFC Hamburg live blog for Mauricio Rua vs. Anthony Smith, a light heavyweight bout at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

In the main event, Rua, who has won three straight and is angling for a title shot next, meets Smith, who knocked out Rashad Evans in just 53 seconds in his 205-pound UFC return in June.

Round 1: Marc Goddard is the third man in the octagon for this light heavyweight main event. Shogun comes out and takes the center of the cage while Smith stays on the outside and lands some leg kicks. “Lionheart” lands a front kick to the face and then catches Shogun with a right hand to the temple that has the former champion rocked! Shogun is stumbling and Smith is pouring on the shots as Rua is back up against the cage. A huge elbow from Smith turns the lights out on Shogun who is slumped against the fence unconscious. Anthony Smith is for real!
