Both men find themselves in rematches, with Dillashaw taking on former teammate-turned-rival Cody Garbrandt in the main event, and Johnson once again having to fend off Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo in the co-headlining bout.
Dillashaw defeated Garbrandt by second-round TKO at UFC 217 last November to reclaim the bantamweight championship. It was the first loss of Garbrandt’s pro career and Dillashaw’s seventh win in eight fights.
The first Johnson-Cejudo meeting at UFC 197 in April 2016 ended inside of a round, with Johnson landing a crippling body shot that forced the referee to waive off the bout less than three minutes into their title fight. That was the eighth consecutive successful championship defense for Johnson, a streak that has since extended to 11, a UFC record.
UFC 227 takes place on Aug. 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
