DWTNCS medical suspensions: Chris Curtis gets potential six-month sentence after highlight-reel win

UFC Guilherme Cruz, MMA Fighting

Welterweight veteran Chris Curtis highlighted a list of six fighters to be handed medical suspensions following the season two debut of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.

The Nevada Athletic Commission released the event’s medical suspension report on Wednesday to MMA Fighting.

Curtis defeated Sean Lally with a highlight-reel hook kick KO midway through the third round of his welterweight contest. After failing to receive a UFC contract for his handiwork, Curtis announced his retirement from MMA. Nonetheless, if Curtis does decide to fight again, the 31-year-old will be forced to seek physician clearance on his broken left thumb or be sidelined for six months, per NAC officials.

UFC contract winners Alonzo Menifield and Greg Hardy did not receive medical suspensions.

The season two debut of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series took place June 12 at the TUF Gym in Las Vegas. The event aired live on UFC Fight Pass.
