Tom Mearns’s first night in a Bellator cage came to an abrupt end.
The British featherweight suffered a nasty arm injury in the second round of his bout against Mike Ekundayo on the preliminary portion of Bellator 200 on Friday at the SSE Arena, Wembley in London, forcing the referee to wave off the bout 62 seconds into round two.
Mearns’s limb wound up bending at an impossible angle as he grappled with Ekundayo, who was also making his Bellator debut.
