Paul Daley’s issues with Bellator are no secret. And they came back to the forefront Saturday night in the most unusual of ways.
Daley suffered a unanimous decision loss to Jon Fitch at Bellator 199. As is Fitch’s modus operandi, the contest was a grinding, wrestling-heavy affair that drew plenty of boos from the crowd inside the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. — and some of those boos came from Daley himself.
In a bizarre and somewhat hilarious exchange, cageside microphones caught Daley cursing out Bellator officials and booing his own fight while Fitch punched him from back control in the closing minute of the fight. Video of the conversation can be seen above, courtesy of Twitter user Fancy Combat. Daley has one fight remaining on his Bellator contract and has pledged to leave the promotion once that fight is done.
