Ray Borg vs. Brandon Moreno pulled from UFC 223 in latest Conor McGregor incident casualty

A flyweight matchup between Ray Borg and Brandon Moreno is the latest casualty of Conor McGregor’s Thursday antics.

Borg was one of those on board a van at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. following UFC 223 media day. Before the van could leave for the fighter hotel, a group led by McGregor assaulted the van and shattered a window.

Several were injured by flying glass, including Borg, who went to a local hospital later in the day complaining about an inability to close his eyes due to what he believed to be shards of glass from the incident. Borg was soon thereafter pulled from the bout. MMA Fighting confirmed an initial report by ESPN.

The fight cancellation bringing the toll caused by the McGregor incident up to three. Artem Lobov, a friend of McGregor who was allegedly part of the incident, was immediately pulled from his featherweight bout with Alex Caceres by UFC president Dana White. And lightweight Michael Chiesa, who still wanted to fight despite being hospitalized with facial lacerations, had his bout against Anthony Pettis canceled on Thursday night.

No word yet on whether Borg or Moreno will receive contracted show money for the event, or when and if the fight might be rescheduled.
