According to UFC president Dana White, CM Punk vs. Mike Jackson is officially a go.
The welterweight bout at UFC 225, which was first reported by MMA Fighting two months ago, has been finalized, White told TMZ on Thursday.
Punk (0-1), the pro wrestling alter ego of Phil Brooks, made his mixed martial arts debut to much fanfare at UFC 203, where he lost to via first-round submission to Mickey Gall.
Jackson (0-1), meanwhile, also owes his only professional loss to Gall. The Houston native lost to Gall via first-round sub in Feb. 2016 in a bout to determine who would face Punk.
Punk vs. Jackson will be held on June 9 at the United Center in Punk’s hometown of Chicago.
