A lightweight clash between Felipe Silva and Claudio Puelles was added to UFC’s upcoming trip to Santiago, Chile, on May 19. Combate first reported the news.
Silva (8-1) is looking to rebound from his first career loss last September, a 84-second knockout defeat to Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Rotterdam. The Brazilian talent, who beat Shane Campbell in 73 seconds in his Octagon debut in 2016, now holds a 1-1 UFC record.
Puelles (7-2) is the TUF Latin America 3 lightweight runner-up, losing to Martin Bravo in the final in November of 2016. Born in Peru, Puelles went 3-0 in unofficial bouts during the reality show, and returns to action almost a year after an injury forced him out of a fight with Sage Northcutt.
The UFC has yet to announce which fight will headline the company’s Fight Night card in Chile. The event will take place at the Movistar Arena in Santiago.
