Jeremy Stephens earned his 15th career UFC victory on Saturday night. He later added his ninth post-fight bonus.
Stephens’ second-round knockout of Josh Emmett in the main event of UFC on FOX 28 was not without controversy, but it was good for the hard-hitting featherweight’s third consecutive win. And it also earned him a Performance of the Night bonus, which means he’ll leave Orlando with an extra $50,000.
Ilir Latifi, too, had a memorable performance Saturday. He followed up a ferocious flurry against Ovince Saint Preux by putting his foe out with a standing guillotine choke. With his fifth win in his past six fights, Latifi earned the other Performance of the Night award on the evening, the first bonus of his 10-fight UFC career.
For Fight of the Night, you have to go deep into the undercard, where welterweights Alan Jouban and Ben Saunders put on a show. The duo threw down for a round and a half before a Jouban left to Saunders’ jaw ended things via knockout. Both fighters take home an extra $50K.
The UFC announced a crowd of 10,124 paying a gate of $1.064M at Amway Center.
