Sam Alvey has spent most of his career fighting at 185 pounds, but he might have to consider sticking around at light heavyweight after picking up a spectacular knockout win Saturday night.
“Smile’N Sam” was matched up with Octagon newcomer Marcin Prachnio, and the Polish prospect received a rude welcome to the big show when Alvey blasted him with a pair of heavy right hands in the Fight Pass headliner of UFC on FOX 28 in Orlando, Fla.
The second shot came as Prachnio marched forward with his hands down, and Alvey capitalized on the opening with a right hook that put Prachnio on his knees. Referee Dan Miragliotta quickly jumped in for the save at 4:23 of Round 1.
Following his fifth UFC knockout victory, Alvey called for a bout with fellow slugger Gian Villante.
