This is the UFC on FOX 28 live blog for Jeremy Stephens vs. Josh Emmett, a featherweight bout at Saturday night’s UFC event at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

Stephens, coming off back-to-back wins against Doo Ho Choi and former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez, takes on Emmett, who is fresh off of a first-round knockout of one-time UFC title challenger Ricardo Lamas, in the evening’s main event.

Round 1: Dan Miragliotta the third man in the cage for the UFC on FOX 28 main event. The first 45 seconds sees Emmett circling and neither fighter throwing much beyond the occasional leg kick. It’s Emmett who comes forward first with a 1-2 that Stephens evades. Emmett comes in with an uppercut, but Stephens counters with a punch of his own. Big swing by Stephens as Emmett feints in again. We have a brief stoppage after Stephens takes a groin shot. He takes little time to get back into the fight. High kick by Emmett whiffs. Both men try to kick and get tied up, but Emmett uses the opportunity to score with a straight right. Stephens trips off of an attempted knee and Emmett lands a body kick as he gets up. Combination to the body by Stephens. Good punch to the body by Stephens and responds with a right hand on the chin. Stephens gets aggressive and eats a right hand, he’s on his back and Emmett jumps down into half guard. He’s looking to land ground-and-pound. Stephens stands and Emmett tries to control his head, but Stephens slips out. Head movement by Emmett as he tries to goad Stephens into another mistake. Nothing doing.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Emmett.

Round 2: Emmett looking to set up kicks from distance. He shuffles his feet and darts his head from side to side as he darts in for a 1-2 combo. Spinning backfist for Stephens glances off the top of Emmett’s head. Left hook by Stephens badly hurts Emmett and he is all over him. Big elbows down on the canvas. Stephens almost lands an illegal knee. Emmett falls back and Stephens puts him out cold with two more massive elbows.
