Round 1: Edward Collantes on-hand to oversee this fight. It’s Penn pushing forward early on and he has Hall against the cage, but Hall slips out easily. Hall throws a low kick and falls to his back, Penn making him pay with kicks to the thigh. He’s not going down to engage Hall, who is trying to kick away at Penn’s legs. Hall working to tie up Penn’s leg, but Penn just circling and kicking at him. Collantes calls for a reset. Hall throwing high kicks freely, missing, but he’s having success kicking Penn’s leg. Hall explodes with an Imanari roll, he gets Penn down and slaps on a heel hook. Instant tap-out by Penn and Hall lets go immediately! It looks like Penn’s leg still took some damage though.

Official result: Ryan Hall def. B.J. Penn via submission (heel hook) at 2:46 of round one
