UFC Fight Night: Dos Santos vs. Tuivasa took place Dec. 1 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Adelaide, Australia. Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos (19-5) took on unbeaten Tai Tuivasa (8-0) in the night’s main event, which aired live on FOX Sports 1.

Herb Dean is the third man in the Octagon for this one. Tuivasa immediately takes the center of the canvas and rushes at Dos Santos. The Brazilian evades the blitz and follows up with a straight right to the body. Tuivasa is literally sprinting at Dos Santos with wild haymakers. Dos Santos goes upstairs with a high kick. Tuivasa clinches up and presses Dos Santos in the the cage bug can’t do any damage. Dos Santos breaks free and slaps in another high kick before stepping over a leg kick.
Both men exchanged left hooks to the jaw. Tuiviasa clinches up again and lands a slicing elbow to Dos Santos’ skull. Shaking off the attack, Dos Santos looks for the spinning back kick but only connects with air. Tuivasa rocks Dos Santos against the cage and swarms in with a barrage of strikes within the clinch before finishing out the round with a vicious punch to the jaw.

With one round under their belt, Tuivasa immediately looks to pick up where he left off as he batters Dos Santos with a more punches against he fence. Dos Santos eats another overhand right and, somehow, counters with a thunderous leg kick. Dos Santos evades a flurry, counters with a short left and sends Tuivasa crashing to the canvas with a right hook to the jaw. Lunging onto his downed opponent, Dos Santos secures full mount and unloads with a hurricane of hammer fists.
Tuivasa is attempting to battle back with his punches from his back but Dos Santos is unrelenting as he dribbles punch after punch on his opponent’s face. Herb Dean has seen enough! Dos Santos finishes Tuivasa!
