Jessica-Rose Clark has broken her silence regarding the weight-cutting issue that forced her out of UFC on FOX 31.

Clark, who was scheduled to fight Andrea Lee in a flyweight bout Saturday night in Milwaukee, tweeted Friday night that her weight cut was going better than ever, but her body “gave up” on her.

“I’m ok,” Clark wrote. “Really upset, but happy to be here. This camp has been a roller coaster but I thought it would all be ok when I got to fight. Weight cut was more on track than any before. Body gave up on me though. Lesson learned. I’ll post a video later tonight. Thanks for all the love.”

Clark, 31, reportedly passed out while cutting weight Friday morning and the UFC announced later that she was medically unfit to fight.

Clark (9-5, 1 NC) has had issues making 125 pounds before. She missed weight by two pounds before a fight with Bec Rawlings in November 2017 and also missed the mark in a 2015 fight under the TTF Challenge banner in Japan. Clark, an Australia native who now lives and trains in Las Vegas, has been going through a gym change, recently leaving Syndicate MMA. She is coming off a loss to Jessica Eye in June.

On Friday afternoon, Lee released a video message on her Instagram account about the bout being canceled.

“I know Jess wanted to fight as badly as I did and it’s just unfortunate how these things turn out, I hope she is well and healthy,” Lee wrote. “It sucks for the both of us. Please don’t talk shit, it’s over and we are focused on the next.”
