It’s been a long time since Kamaru Usman won a fight night bonus, but there would be no denying him on Friday.

In the welterweight main event of The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale on Friday at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Usman dominated former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos for the majority of their five-round contest. Usman improved to 9-0 in the UFC and he picked up his first Performance of the Night bonus since winning his own season of TUF over three years ago.

No Fight of the Night bonus was handed out, meaning three other fighters also won $50,000: Joseph Benavidez, Juan Espino, and Roosevelt Roberts. The wins had to have special significance for all three.

Benavidez, a stalwart at 125 pounds, needed less than a round to defeat fast-rising flyweight Alex Perez via TKO. It was his first finish since April 2014, when he used a guillotine choke to submit Tim Elliott, and he now has three UFC fight night bonuses.

Both Espino and Roberts were making their UFC debuts. Espino used his wrestling to dominate and submit Justin Frazier to capture the TUF 28 heavyweight crown, while Contender Series signee Roberts improved his pro record to 7-0 with a first-round guillotine choke submission of Darrell Horcher.

The announced attendance was 2,020 with a gate of $204,600.
