This is The A-Side Live Chat on MMA Fighting.

Today on the show, we’ll talk fallout from UFC 230 last weekend. Is Brock Lesnar really the right choice for Daniel Cormier’s farewell fight? Who should Israel Adesanya fight next? Has Ronaldo Souza earned a title shot?

We’ll also discuss Floyd Mayweather coming out of retirement to fight Tenshin Nasukawa at Rizin 14 on New Year’s Eve. What is there to be made from this stunning announcement? Will Mayweather fight in anything but pure boxing? How is he getting paid?

In addition, Ben Askren made his first media appearance as a UFC fighter over the weekend at Madison Square Garden, doing a scrum with gathered press at UFC 230. Reports have him fighting Robbie Lawler at UFC 233 on Jan. 26 in Anaheim, Calif. Is that the right opponent for Askren in his debut? Is there really as much interest for “Funky” as there seems to be?

We will also speak about ONE Championship and the big moves the Asian promotion is making. Eddie Alvarez and Demetrious Johnson are on their way there, while Sage Northcutt is currently being wooed. How big of a 2019 can ONE have? What is the ceiling for that promotion and will it gain much more attention in North America?

Also on tap, we’ll chat about UFC Denver, which has a number of very interesting fights. Chan Sung Jung returns in the main event to fight Yair Rodriguez, while Donald Cerrone and Mike Perry meet in the co-headliner. What are the storylines going into that card?

If there is time, we can also talk about the Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson press conference last week in New York, which also featured the first faceoff between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes. Was there anything notable coming out of that?

There is plenty to talk about, so join us to discuss all of the above and much more. All is up for discussion. The chat will start at our time of 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.

As always, we’ll post the video window as the event draws near and answer any questions you might have if you post them in the comments below. For the comments you deem the most deserving, please click the “rec” button. Comments in green will get first priority.
