With the crowd chanting his family’s famous name, John Gotti III delivered.
Gotti, the grandson of the notorious New York gangster of the same moniker, boosted his pro MMA record to 3-0 with a 28-second TKO of Josh Zuckerman on Friday at CES 53 in Lincoln, R.I.
The unbeaten welterweight caught a lazy kick from Zuckerman and made him pay with a rocking overhand right that immediately sent Zuckerman into defense mode.
But there was no escaping the ground-and-pound of Gotti, who swarmed Zuckerman and punched away until the referee waved off the bout. The speedy knockout topped Gotti’s previous career-best of 32 seconds, which came in a win over Eddie Haws in New York this past May.
None of Gotti’s opponents have made it out of the first round so far.
