Erik Perez’s return to the Combate Americas cage has been postponed.
Booked to headline Combate Americas 24 less than six months after his successful promotional debut, UFC veteran “Goyito” will no longer compete on Oct. 13 as his opponent John Castaneda is currently battling a staph infection, the company announced Tuesday.
With Perez vs. Castaneda postponed to a later date, Combate Americas 24 will now be headlined by boxing star Amanda Serrano (0-0-1 in MMA, 35-1-1 in boxing) vs. Erendira Ordoñez (2-1) in the flyweight division.
The nine-bout card takes place at the AVA Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Ariz. UFC and Rizin veteran Anthony Birchak (12-6) will make his promotional debut versus Adam Martinez (5-1) in the new co-main event.
