If you weren’t already hyped for Khabib vs. McGregor, you will be now.
On Saturday afternoon, the UFC released a video — that will act as the pay-per-view cold open — for UFC 229 voiced by actor John Malkovich. The promo is goosebump-inducing and being called one of the best UFC promotional videos ever done.

Khabib Nurmagomedov will defend his UFC lightweight title against former champion Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229 on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will air live in the U.S. on pay-per-view.
UFC 229 is likely to be one of the highest selling UFC PPVs ever, with UFC president Dana White saying it is trending at upwards of 3 million buys. That figure would place it just behind Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao and Mayweather vs. McGregor all time in terms of combat sports PPVs. McGregor said he stands to make as much as $50 million if it reaches those heights.
The fight itself is years in the making, between two of the best UFC lightweights of all time, made more prominent by McGregor’s attack on a UFC fighter bus in April, which resulted in his arrest. Nurmagomedov was on the bus and the attack was spurred by Nurmagomedov and his team confronting McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov in the host hotel in Brooklyn earlier that week.
