Danielle Bregoli - better known by her rapping sobriquet, Bhad Bhabie, but best known as the girl who became an internet meme for yelling “Cash me outside, how out dat!” on an episode of Dr. Phil - recently befriended UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg, even having Cyborg make an appearance in her latest music video.
But their friendship won’t stop there. According to Cyborg, Bhad Bhabie will soon be able to throw down for real if someone catches her outside because she intends to train the young rapper in mixed martial arts.
“I invited her to go to my gym too,” Cyborg told TMZ Sports recently. “I would like to train her, show some disciplines of mixed martial arts, and show my work for her. I think it’s a great opportunity.
“I invited her to come and she’s gonna come to the gym and I will show a little bit about martial arts. She says she really likes street fights. The first day I met her she said, ‘I don’t like gloves, I like a street fight.’ So I’m gonna show a little bit about mixed martial arts for her.
“Soon we’re gonna train together and I think mixed martial arts teaches kid discipline. I think you learn a lot. When I started training I learned a lot, you know, respect. I think you learn a lot of things and kids should learn mixed martial arts for discipline.”
Despite her ignominious start, Bregoli has turned into a real-life success story. After her appearance on Dr. Phil, Bregoli, who was only 14 at the time, released a music single, “These Heaux” that reached number 77 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the youngest female rap artist to debut on the Hot 100. She subsequently signed a multi-album recording contract with Atlantic Records. Of course, if the music career doesn’t pan out for her, maybe you can “Cash her in the Octagon” instead.
“We don’t know,” said Cyborg. “Maybe. If she likes street fights maybe she likes fighting in a cage. You can make amazing fight and get paid.”
