A day after posting a clip of himself stepping into a cage at the Syndicate MMA gym in Las Vegas, “Money” is taking the act a step further, this time cutting a short promo in which he asks: “2018. Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. MMA. What are the odds?”
Mayweather became inextricably tied to the MMA world in 2017 when his ongoing feud with UFC superstar Conor McGregor culminated in a blockbuster boxing match last August that Mayweather won by TKO in the 10th round. Both men collected massive paychecks for their participation in that contest and have continued to trade shots back and forth over social media.
While neither of Mayweather’s in-cage tweets explicitly mention McGregor, they certainly caught the attention of “The Notorious”, who had a swift response for his rival.
It’s worth noting that Mayweather’s shorts read “Paddy Power” on the side, which is an online betting site based out of Ireland that sponsored him for his boxing match against McGregor. During his brief promo, Mayweather says “Paddy” while asking about the odds, so it’s possible these clips are tied in to some sort of promotion for the bookmaker.
