Another win, another post-fight bonus for “Jacare”.
Ronaldo Souza picked up his fifth UFC fight night bonus with a first-round head-kick knockout of Derek Brunson in the middleweight main event of UFC on FOX 27 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday. His last three wins have all netted $50,000 bonus checks, including his quick finishes of Tim Boetsch and Vitor Belfort.
Also picking up an award for a first-round stoppage was Mirsad Bektic. The Bosnian-American featherweight needed less than three minutes to put Godofredo Pepey away with a nasty body shot. This is Bektic’s first performance bonus in six UFC appearances.
The evening’s Fight of the Night award went to welterweights Drew Dober and Frank Camacho. Dober topped Camacho by unanimous decision after three competitive rounds of action and earned his first UFC performance bonus.
For Camacho, this is his third consecutive Fight of the Night following a split nod over Damien Brown at UFC Sydney in November, and a unanimous decision loss to Li Jingliang at UFC Singapore last June.
