Miesha Tate announces pregnancy

As Miesha Tate puts it, she’s got a “cupcake in the oven.”

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion took to Instagram on Monday evening to announce that she is pregnant and expecting a daughter later this year:

Tate, 31, posted a collage that included an ultrasound and pictures of her celebrating with partner Johnny Nunez, a former Boise State wrestler who is best known in the MMA world for competing on the 22nd season of The Ultimate Fighter.

The announcement comes almost 14 months after Tate’s last fight, a unanimous decision loss to Raquel Pennington at UFC 205. Tate retired from professional competition with an 18-7 record and a UFC title among her list of accolades.
