Paul Daley is known for his explosiveness inside the Bellator cage, but his outburst on social media probably isn’t going to thrill his employers.
“Semtex” took to Facebook on Friday to write a fiery message directed at Bellator and company president Scott Coker, suggesting that he feels disrespected based on comments made by Coker at a press conference in Inglewood, Calif., on Thursday regarding Daley’s welterweight rival Michael “Venom” Page.
“[Page] hasn’t fought in MMA in how long,” Daley wrote. “His last performance in boxing and MMA were terrible.
“I beat Lorenz Larkin, former UFC guy - top-6 when he left the organization - by KO and they sweep it under the rug? And then sideline me?”
Daley then vowed to leave Bellator after completing the last two fights on his contract, writing “f**k” Bellator. He and Page have gone back-and-forth about a potential bout for over a year and while the fight has been in talks to happen on multiple occasions, both Englishmen have accused the other of failing to follow up on the challenge.
The 34-year-old added that if by some chance he does fight Page, it “won’t be happening under the Bellator banner.”
