UFC 215 live blog: Ilir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro

This is the UFC 215 live blog for Ilir Latifi vs. Tyson Pedro, a light heavyweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta.

Latifi, who has won three of his past five fights, will square off against Pedro, who is 6-0 in his career, on the main card.

Round 1: Huge test for prospect Tyson Pedro, as he takes on Ilir Latifi. The referee for this bout is Dan Miragliotta. Pedro takes the outside of the Octagon. Good shot to the body by Latifi. Pedro lands a big leg kick, but gets caught by Latifi and gets taken down. Latifi solid with top control. Pedro gets back up. Front kick to the body by Pedro. Pedro attempts the head kick but Latifi gets him on the ground. Latifi now on north-south. Pedro explodes and gets back on his feet, but he’s stuck in a front headlock. Latifi now pressuring him against the cage. Good left hand while breaking off from the clinch by Latifi. The bell rings.

Round 2: Here we go with the second round. Pedro pressuring Latifi, forcing him to take the outside of the Octagon. Hard body kick by Pedro. Nice uppercut by Latifi. These two are throwing heavy leather. Latifi ruches Pedro against the cage and begins to look for the takedown. Huge slam by Latifi. Latifi now working from the guard. Two minutes left. Pedro looking to wall walk. Latifi with solid control from the top, steps into half guard. Pedro gets back up, but he’s now being pressured against the cage. One minute left. Pedro landing some nice elbows form the clinch. Good left hand by Latifi. The round comes to an end.

Round 3: Pedro starts the round with a nice jab. Latifi throws a big left hook but misses. They’ve slowed down a bit. A minute has gone by with very little action. Pedro lands a hard leg kick, seemed to hurt Latifi. Latifi is now bleeding from his left eye. Good uppercut by Latifi. Pedro lands a body kick and he’s now backing up Latifi. Latifi shoots a takedown and gets it. He’s now in guard. Two minutes left. Latifi landing some hard right hands from the top. Pedro looking to escape but Latifi is solid on top. Latifi controlling and landing shots. Pedro is bleeding from his eyebrow. Latifi ends the round in dominant fashion.
