UFC Rotterdam bonuses: Mairbek Taisumov cashes in for massive KO

The tallest fight in UFC history turned out to be much more than just an oddity.

Towering heavyweights Alexander Volkov and Stefan Struve were each rewarded a $50,000 bonus for putting on the Fight of the Night in the UFC Rotterdam main event on Saturday at the Ahoy Rotterdam in The Netherlands. Mairbek Taisumov and Zabit Magomedsharipov also received Performance of the Night bonuses.

The bonuses were announced at the start of the evening’s post-fight press conference.

It was Volkov who walked away with a third-round TKO victory, but both he and Struve were warmly recognized by the Dutch fans for their back-and-forth battle. For Struve, this is his first Fight of the Night award in 19 UFC fights, and his seventh fight night bonus overall.

Taisumov is no stranger to bonus checks, as he snagged his third straight with a dynamite first-round KO of Felipe Silva. This was Taisumov’s first fight since April 2016 and he picked up right where he left off with his fifth knockout in as many appearances.

Debuting featherweight Magomedsharipov capped off a flashy performance with a second-round submission of Mike Santiago.
