A bantamweight clash between John Lineker and Marlon Vera was added to UFC’s upcoming event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Oct. 28. MMA Fighting confirmed with multiple sources following a report by Combate.
Lineker (29-8) returns to the cage for the first time since fracturing his jaw in his UFC 207 clash with T.J. Dillashaw last December. Lineker, who has won six in a row prior to that bout, suffered the injury in the opening round and lost a decision against the former UFC champion.
Vera (12-3-1) enters the biggest fight of his professional career on a three-fight winning streak, including a first-round submission over Brian Kelleher in Long Island and the third-round knockout of Brad Pickett in London earlier this year.
UFC Fight Night 119 takes place at the Ibirapuera gymnasium in Sao Paulo, and features Lyoto Machida vs. Derek Brunson in the main event.
