A pair of memorable performances and a nice lightweight fight earned bonuses on Saturday night.
Uriah Hall and Mike Perry earned $50,000 Performance of the Night awards at UFC Pittsburgh, while Gregor Gillespie and Jason Gonzalez each took home the same for their Fight of the Night.
Hall had one of the year’s great comebacks in his middleweight matchup with Krzysztof Jotko. Hall dropped the opening round 10-8 on two cards before rallying to win via TKO at 2:25 of the second and snap a three-fight losing streak.
Perry, for his part, did what he had to do in his co-feature bout against Alex Reyes, a late replacement for Thiago Alves. A picture perfect Muay Thai knee to the head earned Perry a KO in just 1:19.
Gillespie and Gonzalez, meanwhile, had an exciting, back-and-forth lightweight scrap before Gillespie pulled away and won at 2:11 of the second round via arm triangle choke.
Attendance at PPG Paints Arena was 7,005 and the paid gate $396,190.75.
