In their first cracks at BAMMA gold, Alex Lohore and Mike Shipman left no doubt that they’re championship material.
Two belts changed hands at BAMMA 31 at the SSE Arena in London, England on Friday, with Lohore taking out Nathan Jones in Round 3 of the evening’s main event to win the welterweight title, and Shipman putting middleweight gold around his waist with a first-round knockout of Yannick Bahati in the co-headliner.
Shipman looked to have the highlight of the night sealed when he dispatched of Bahati with a spinning backfist that left Bahati out cold, but he would arguably be topped by Lohore just one fight later.
After having to deal with the grappling of Jones for two rounds, Lohore made sure that the judges’ scorecards would be unnecessary by smashing Jones with a thudding knee to the jaw:

Both Shipman (now undefeated in 11 consecutive appearances) and Lohore (13-1) have previously competed for Bellator and held titles in other British promotions, but these have to be considered the most high-profile and most spectacular wins of their careers to date.
