This is the UFC Fight Night 114 live blog for Sergio Pettis vs. Brandon Moreno, a flyweight bout at Saturday night's UFC event at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.

Pettis, who has won three straight fights, will square off against Moreno, who has won 11 straight fights, in the main event.

Check out the UFC Fight Night 114 live blog below.

Round 1: Moreno looking extremely loose. He catches a Pettis kick early and drives in for a takedown against the fence. Moreno showing good discipline on the ground, not forcing anything. He stands up momentarily, avoids Pettis’s upkicks, and then he gets back control. Moreno has a body triangle and he’s free to focus on working for a submission. Pettis plants his feet on the mat and guides them over to the fence. Moreno lands short punches from back control. A scramble initiated by Pettis proves fruitless, Moreno has that body triangle on tight. He makes Pettis work hard to defend a rear-naked choke until the opening buzzer sounds. All Moreno after five minutes.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-8, Moreno.

Round 2: Moreno comes out again with bizarre arm movement and facial expressions. After a minute, Pettis has managed to stay upright and keep Moreno at bay with leg kicks and jabs. He catches a Moreno kick and trips him, but chooses not to follow him to the ground. A head kick by Pettis partially connects, Moreno tries to get a takedown off of it but Pettis’s own grappling helps him fend it off. Pettis’s kicks are really giving Moreno problems in this round. Moreno can only paw at him as Pettis repeatedly snaps kicks at his leg. Not much from Moreno in the last couple of minutes there.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Pettis. Overall 19-18, Moreno.

Round 3: It’s looking like Pettis has a major striking advantage. He’s keeping Moreno in front of him and just shredding him with low kicks. Pettis catches a Moreno kick and nearly lands one of his own to Moreno’s head while tripping him down. He lets Moreno stand. Moreno throwing some wild, looping punches, nothing landing. He slips to the mat going for a takedown from long range and “Big” John McCarthy pauses the action to let him get his mouthpiece back in. More jabs from Pettis. He’s perfectly controlling the distance in Round 3. Pettis has cut the cage off for Moreno and he’s pulling away in the significant strikes department.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Pettis. Overall 28-28.

Round 4: Moreno keeping his left arm down and Pettis is happy to throw strikes right over it while avoiding counter-punches. He’s soundly out-boxing Moreno now. We have a pause in the action as Moreno takes an accidental eye poke. A doctor comes in to check Moreno, but he insists he’s fine. He comes out aggressive, but Pettis is still landing at will. More leg kicks, more jabs, more rights over the top from Pettis. 90 seconds left in Round 3, a bloodied Moreno not backing down. Pettis slips on a spinning high kick, but Moreno can’t capitalize. Pettis ends with a capoeira kick that doesn’t connect, instead leading to him getting taken down just before the buzzer sounds.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Pettis. Overall 38-37, Pettis.

Round 5: Moreno finally gets another takedown 45 seconds into the final frame. He’s working from full guard, trying to get free to pass or land some ground-and-pound, but Pettis has him tied up. Moreno tries to score points with extremely short, mostly ineffective punches. Moreno postures up to get some more leverage and almost eats an upkick for his troubles. He’s still grinding Pettis up against the cage. After some more grappling, he almost takes the back, but Pettis just bucks him off and this is a standup fight again. They trade shots in the center of the cage, and it looks like Pettis may have lost the advantage here. The judges might not be able to pick a winner in this one.

MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Moreno. Overall 47-47, draw.

Official result: Sergio Pettis def. Brandon Moreno via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-46, 48-46)
