UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor boxed Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on Saturday night in what will likely be the most lucrative fight of all time. Mayweather stopped him in the 10th round, ahead on all scorecards, but in the aftermath, many were complimentary of McGregor’s showing, including former foes and several boxing personalities who gave him little chance beforehand.

But not everyone was as impressed with McGregor.

Rap icon Snoop Dogg, who also moonlights as a commentator on the alternate “Snoopcast” commentary for the Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series, took to his Instagram account immediately after the fight where he fired off an expletive-laden tirade against McGregor and his failure.

50. 0

“50 and 0 n****. The motherf***ing champ, n****. 50 and 0. F*** that motherf***ing punkass McGregor, you b****. F*** him. Motherf***ing champ, n****.

“Yeah, n****. That’s what you get for coming to a motherf***ing gang fight with a butter knife you b***ass motherf***er. F*** you, n****. Money Team champ, n****. Where the party at, Floyd? Yeaaah!

“Hey, 50 and 0, n****. Hey, McGregor a bad motherf***er though. I’ll give him his, he got heart. He got heart.”

To go along with that last equivocation, Snoop Dogg also ended the evening with a final compliment towards McGregor, saying the fight was excellent.

“Good win tonight champ. Good fight McGregor, that was a great f***ing fight, man. Now we celebrate.”

And had that been the end of it, perhaps Snoop Dogg’s statements could be viewed as heat of the moment reactions. Instead though, Snoop Dogg went on to repost several memes and videos making fun of McGregor and his supporters.

It remains to be seen whether this open and abrasive mocking of the UFC’s biggest star will have any effect on Snoop’s role as a commentator with the Tuesday Night Contender Series.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and the fights. In my opinion, MayMac ended up being the rare fight where everyone can draw basically whatever conclusion they want from it, which can only help Conor going forward, assuming he does wish to continue fighting. At the very least, it seems like we have a Diaz trilogy incoming.

And we’re back in the saddle again. UFC Fight Night Tall Guys this weekend and a Ben Askren fight to boot if you’re the type of person to be interested in that. Happy Monday and see y’all tomorrow.
