Augusto Mendes vs. Boston Salmon booked for UFC Fight Night 119 in Brazil

Contract winner in the first Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series card, Boston Salmon will make his UFC debut against in Sao Paulo, Brazil, against Augusto Mendes. Sources confirmed the match-up to MMA Fighting following a report by MMA Today.

UFC Fight Night 116 takes place at Sao Paulo's Ibirapuera gymnasium on Oct. 28.

Salmon (6-1) has competed throughout his entire career under the RFA banner, scoring four knockouts in his first five professional wins. After suffering his first loss, “Boom Boom” beat Ricky Turcios at Dana White’s show and signed with the UFC.

Mendes (6-2) competed three times in the UFC so far. After losing his promotional debut to now champion Cody Garbrandt on short notice, the multiple-time jiu-jitsu champion defeated Frankie Saenz via decision in January, but lost a decision to Aljamain Sterling three months later.
