Amanda Nunes has broken her silence following her canceled title defense.
The UFC women’s bantamweight champion took to Twitter on Saturday to address her withdrawal from her UFC 213 main event fight with top contender Valentina Shevchenko.
Nunes, who fell ill prior to the fight, apologized to fans in a short message, and stated that her rematch with Shevchenko will be rescheduled. It’s not for certain when the fight will go down now, but UFC president Dana White told ESPN on Saturday that the promotion was looking to reschedule the bout for UFC 215, which is set for Sept. 9 in Edmonton, Canada.
Below is Nunes’ statement on the cancellation of her fight:
Sorry to all my true fans. The fight will be rescheduled and I will be back at 100%. Essa luta vai ser remarcada e estarei 100% pic.twitter.com/8WEttqMUgM— Amanda Nunes (@Amanda_Leoa) July 9, 2017
