Not much action otherwise but Pettis is backing Miller up and he lands a stiff right hand. Pettis lands a great body kick and then a jump knee up against the cage that hurts Miller. Pettis pours on some offense but Miller is hanging tough and works his way out of it but Pettis is now pressuring Miller and lands a clean right hand. Miller looks to be okay but Pettis is feeling it right now and lands a fancy switch leg feint into a spinning back fist. A switch kick from Pettis lands. Miller is okay but almost purely on the defensive now and Pettis is finding openings. Miller goes back to working the inside low kicks and lands a good body kick of his own. Pettis lands a head kick near the end of the bell but Miller shakes it off. MMA Fighting scores to round 10-9 Pettis.

Round 2: In between rounds, Pettis’ corner tells him to expect takedowns from Miller but Miller opens the round landing a good overhand left. After some exchanges, Pettis goes high with a right kick that gets caught on Miller’s shoulder and Miller drives Pettis to the mat. Pettis begins working on a triangle but Miller postures up. Miller is pouring blood from that high kick and Pettis is again working on a triangle while Miller defends and rains down shots. Pettis now appears to be cut from an elbow. Pettis again goes for a sub but Miller shucks it off and takes Pettis’ back. Pettis is able to stand and sneak out the back door though and now Pettis is on top and working strikes from half-guard. Miller attacks a leg and forces Pettis to stand but he comes right back down into half-guard with a good left hand. Pettis lands a hard elbow and passes to side control. Miller tries to buck but Pettis holds the position while staying busy with strikes. Miller gives up his back but Pettis can’t sink both hooks in. Pettis stays latched on the back though and drags Miller back down with a trip, ending the round on top. MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9 Pettis.

Round 3: The round starts with Pettis landing a few kicks at range and circling as Miller begins pressuring. Miller lands a couple low kicks and a good overhand left. Pettis tries to go high again but Miller is wary this time. Miller lands the same inside low kick but Pettis lifts his leg through the strike and uses the leg to kick the body. Ineffective but athletic and cool. Pettis hasn’t landed much here except some good jabs and Miller is now dictating the fight with pressure and combinations. Pettis tries to pressure on Miller and Miller times a double leg very well but Pettis defends and rotates the position, driving Miller into the fence and working in the clinch. Miller lands a good elbow and a solid knee but Pettis lands a good left hand. Pettis is just holding position but not landing much here and the two finally break with an exchange. Pettis goes for a capoeira kick which misses and Miller misses a diving Imanari roll.
