TUF 25 Finale live blog: Michael Johnson vs. Justin Gaethje

This is the TUF 25 Finale live blog for Michael Johnson vs. Justin Gaethje, a lightweight bout at Friday night's UFC event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Johnson, who has won two of his past five fights, will square off against Gaethje, who is 17-0 and making his UFC debut, in the main event.

Round 1: Alright, lets see what happens here. The referee for this fight is ‘Big’ John McCarthy. As expected, they don’t touch gloves, but the fight is on. Johnson begins pumping that jab early. Johsnon connects on Gaethje with a straight left an wobbles him. Gaethje recovers. Johnson showing off his speed advantage here connecting on Gaethje. Gaethje doing a good job pressuring forward. Solid leg kick by Gaethje, followed by another one. Gaethje with a good body shot. Johnson fires back witha one-two. Man, Gaethje keeps landing these leg kicks, Wow, Johnson is wobbled by a right hand. Two minutes left. Johnson appears to have recovered, but he’s getting picked apart by Gaethje. Solid right hand lands for Gaethje. Johnson is trying to dire back but nothing significant is landing. Gaethje with more leg kicks. And Johsnon drops Gaethje with a big right hand, and then follows up with a takedown. Gaethje back up but looking in trouble. The bell rings.

Round 2: What a wild fight. Johnson seems to have a bit more confidence now having dropped Gatheje at the end. Gaethje pressuring forward, throwing many leg kicks. Nice body shot by Johnson. Gaethje gets rocked again witha big right hand from Johnson. Gaethje now against the cage taking plenty of punishment. Man, somehow Gaethje has recovered, and is now firing and pressuring Johnson. Good straight right by Gaethje. Solid jab lands for Gaethje. Now Johnson working the body with a few punches. Two minutes left, grueling pace here. Gaethje rocks Johnson with a big uppercut. And another one. The tide has turned once again and Gaethje is connecting on a wobbly Johnson. Flying knee by Gaethje. Johnson taking plenty of punishment here. Johnson falls to his knees after taking several knees to the head. Referee “Big” John calls the bout to an end. What a war.
