Jessica Eye has lost an opponent on just hours’ notice.
The UFC announced that Aspen Ladd was forced out of Friday night’s The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas due to illness. Without proper time to find a new opponent, Eye was also removed from the card.
Eye posted a video on her social media reacting to the news.
Ladd (5-0) was set to make her promotional debut after winning five in a row under the Invicta FC banner.
I want to apologize to @jessicaevileye @seanshelby @danawhite at 9 am this morning I became very ill. I'm currently at the ER, so sorry

Ladd issued further information to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, saying she suspects “either food poisoning or the flu.”
“I apologized to Jessica directly and her camp,” Ladd said.
Eye (11-6, 1 no-contest), on the other hand, was looking for her first win since Nov. 2014 after four losses in a row, winning only one of her seven UFC bouts.
With the change, Friday night’s card will proceed with 11 bouts, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.
