UFC welterweight contender Donald Cerrone highlighted a list of three fighters to receive potential six-month medical suspensions in the aftermath of UFC 214, according to information released Monday by the California State Athletic Commission.
Cerrone suffered a unanimous decision loss in a back-and-forth against Robbie Lawler on the night’s pay-per-view card. As a result, Cerrone will be forced to sit out a minimum of 180 days or seek physician clearance on his left eye if he wishes to return sooner, per CSAC officials.
The two other fighters who received similar potential 180-day suspensions were Renato Moicano (facial/jaw) and Alexandra Albu (left orbital).
UFC 214 took place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The night’s main card aired live on pay-per-view.
Notably, the medical suspension report included a note from the CSAC on Drew Dober, requesting that the lightweight fighter “must move up in weight due to greater than 18% weight increase” between weigh-ins and fight night.
