UFC 214 bonuses: Jon Jones, Volkan Oezdemir rewarded for dramatic finishes

Jon Jones walked out of UFC 214 with gold around his waist and a little extra cash in his pockets.

The new UFC light heavyweight champion earned a $50,000 performance bonus for his brutal third-round TKO of Daniel Cormier in Saturday’s main event in Anaheim, Calif. He was joined on the bonus list by Volkan Oezdemir, Brian Ortega, and Renato Moicano.

Oezdemir earned the event’s other performance bonus with a 42-second KO of fellow light heavyweight contender Jimi Manuwa.

The Fight of the Night award went to Ortega and Moicano for their back-and-forth featherweight battle on the UFC 214 preliminaries. Ortega managed to submit Moicano with a triangle choke in the third round, the fourth straight time he’s finished a fight in the final frame.
