Round 1: Oh man, it’s time for the main event. This heated rematch will be overseen by referee “Big” John McCarthy. And they do touch gloves. Immediately both guys are now swinging. Cormier catches Jones with an uppercut and sends his mouth piece flying. Ref stops the bout and Jones gets mouth piece back. Jones scores a brief takedown but Cormier gets back up. Solid hook to the body by Jones. Cormier lands leg kick. They briefly clinch and break off. Another hook to the body by Jones. Nice left leg kick by Cormier followed by a hook. Jones lands with that infamous oblique kick. Big over hand right by Jones. Another straight right by Jones. Cormier with a left hook. Cormier doing an excellent job at blocking Jones attacks. Cormier clips Jones, but Jones seems ok. Good leg kick by Jones. The bell rings.

Round 2: Nice left hook and knee to the body by Jones. Jones hits Cormier with an oblique kick. Cormier lands a nice leg kick of his own. There seems to be an unintentional heat butt that cut Cormier. The bout is breifly stopped but then resumes. Jones with a nice inside leg kick. Cormier pressuring Jones a lot. Three minutes left. Nice straight to the body by Jones. Jones swinging at Cormier, but Cormier keeps blocking and nodding his head. They engage in the clinch now, Cormier trips Jones, but Jones gets back up. Cormier looking extremely comfortable. And Cormier connects with a big right hand at the end of the round. Very close round.

Round 3: Jones with a big left hook to the body, followed by a leg kick. Nice knee to the body by Jones. Cormier has slowed down here, he’s not throwing as much. Cormier pressuring Jones heavy. Huge head kick wobbles Cormier! WOW. Jones smells blood and is now looking for the kill. Jones trips Cormier and drops him to the canvas. Heavy ground and pound from Jones. Cormier is out and referee McCarthy waives the fight. Impressive finish. Jones becomes the first man to finish Cormier, and regains his light heavyweight title in the process.
