Chase Sherman’s been building up his popularity on social media, getting attention by posting an interesting array of GIFs and memes.

It sure doesn’t hurt that the affable Mississippi heavyweight won again, either.

Sherman (11-3), on Saturday at UFC on FOX 25, scored a unanimous decision over Poland’s Damian Grabowski (20-5) at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y. The judges’ scores were a pair of 30-27s and a 30-26.

Sherman set the tone for the bout in the opening round by landing kicks to Grabowski’s lead leg. That slowed Grabowski, but when Grabowski did move forward, he was met with combos that mixed punches and kicks to the head and body.

In the second, Sherman continued to pour on the damage and had Grabowski in trouble in the round’s closing seconds.

Grabowski scored a takedown in the third round, but couldn’t do anything with it. Both fighters tired in the round, as Grabowski winged attempts at one-hitter quitters that missed.

Sherman, who was coming off a memorable Fight of the Night brawl with Rashad Coulter at UFC 211, won his second straight fight. It was also his first career decision win. The 37-year-old Grabowski dropped to 0-3 in the UFC.
