One of the best fights of the summer is back on.

Following the cancellation of their planned UFC 213 bout, former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and fan-favorite contender Donald Cerrone have been rebooked to face off July 29 at UFC 214. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the news Sunday following an initial report by Lance Pugmire of the LA Times.

Cerrone was forced to withdraw last week from the scheduled contest at UFC 213 after suffering an undisclosed infection. As expected though, the fight was salvageable for UFC 214, and now the two welterweight standouts are the latest additions to the most stacked card of the UFC’s upcoming schedule.

Cerrone (32-8, 1 NC) enters the match-up looking to rebound from a second-round TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal in January. The setback snapped a four-fight win streak for Cerrone that included stoppage wins over Matt Brown and Rick Story and firmly established “Cowboy” as a viable contender in the UFC welterweight division. Cerrone, 34, is currently the No. 7 ranked welterweight on the UFC’s media-generated rankings.

Lawler (27-11, 1 NC), meanwhile, returns to action for the first time since dropping his UFC welterweight title with a first-round knockout loss at the hands of Tyron Woodley in July 2016 at UFC 201. Lawler, 35, won five consecutive bouts prior to that, a run that included a pair of legendary title defenses over Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit, both of which took MMA Fighting’s ‘Fight of the Year’ honors. Despite his recent layoff, Lawler remains the No. 3 ranked welterweight on the UFC’s rankings.

UFC 214 takes place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. An updated UFC 214 fight card can be seen below.
